Greetings and Salutations. Most of my friends call me MJ. I am still discovering who I am, taking small baby steps in finding my way to the life path I’m fated to walk. My overwhelming level of passion bleeds into everything I touch, say and do. I am passionate about acting, music, spirituality, writing, hockey and cooking. In my twenty-seven years on this earth I have learned one thing for sure; that the most valuable form of wealth is health. I’m doing my best to navigate my way through this crazy life while constantly chasing dreams. Every day seems to pass by faster, and with each learning experience this universe presents us with, I believe we are that much closer to reaching our destiny. Society has placed an immense amount of pressure on labeling people in various aspects. We live in a day and age where judgement is expected and kindness and compassion are rare amenities many environments refuse to provide. My labels read: PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and recently BPD. I struggle with several health conditions, several mental and a few physical. Seven years ago I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. What you can expect from this blog is my raw, unfiltered and honest perspective on my personal and ongoing daily battle with all of the aforementioned acronyms my existence is associated with. Additionally, I feel very strongly about advocating and educating others about how I deal with the cards I was dealt. More often than not I feel like an outsider, and I aspire to create a space where I can be part of a larger community of those still finding themselves. I am a hustler, and lately approaches to healing myself from past traumas involve spiritual practices and reminding myself that my health should be my number one priority. I am a huge foodie, and due to my allergies and dietary choices, I spend my time outside of work cooking creatively. You can expect a lot of me sharing recipes and products and supplements that assist me with keeping my temple feeling its best. I am very open about discussing personal relationships and the struggle to maintain them on a regular basis. My goal for this blog is to help shed some light on the stigma associated with mental health conditions, so people can gain insight into why people act the way they do. Ultimately, I hope readers of my blog who feel alone and unseen find a sense of support in getting to know me and my story. View more posts
